Chilean project Impostora releases Empacar, an ethereal and immersive track that captures the constant need for change. More experimental and dreamlike than her debut, this new release explores the feeling of never fully belonging to one place and the inevitable urge to keep moving.

From a young age, the artist chose to live in different countries, working seasonally, changing environments in search of new stimuli and learning experiences. With every arrival, she would transform the space with small, meaningful objects—photos, drawings, books, and plastic toys. It was a ritual that turned the unfamiliar into a temporary refuge. But comfort never lasted long, because the inner voice demanding change was always close behind.

There’s something freeing about knowing everything is temporary, about never fully belonging anywhere. But is it truly freedom, or just an escape in disguise? Empacar is the sound of that inner voice calling for movement, that restless need for change that arises before the present becomes too familiar. “Una vez más a empacar, ni te he visto entrar y ya te vas.”
